University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health students interested in public health can take advantage of scholarship and stipend opportunities to support their education and research.
Opportunities are available for students in the Path of Distinction in Public Health (PoD-PH) and MD-MPH Program.
MD-MPH Dual Degree Scholarship
Purpose: The School of Medicine and Public Health has scholarship funds available for MD-MPH dual degree students seeking support for their public health training and education.
Amount: Three scholarship opportunities exist. $10,000/year per student (up to six available per year); $15,000/year per student (one available per year); up to $5,000/year per student (one available per year).
Eligibility: Any MD student planning to pursue the MPH degree in addition to the medical degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Cannot be combined with a graduate assistantship, although recipients may work in student hourly positions. The award is contingent upon matriculation into MPH program.

Path of Distinction in Public Health (PoD-PH) Scholar Travel Stipend
Purpose: Multiple small travel stipends are available to help offset the registration, travel or lodging related to attendance of a conference related to public health.
Amount: Approximately eight stipends of up to $250 are available annually.
Eligibility: Any student enrolled in the POD-PH program.
